There isn’t a blog here this week. I know you’ll understand. I was writing this weekly blog when circumstances completely disrupted our normally tranquil life. While writing a rough draft, I noticed plumes of smoke rising from the forest a few miles from our house. (We live in a forested area.). The next day we watched the sky become more and more ominous. Yes, wildfires were burning in our vicinity. We are safe and so far our house is, too. But we did evacuate after a police officer knocked on our door and told us to leave. Because our daughter also had to quickly leave her home with her family to escape a fire, we went to stay with our youngest son and his family in a town outside the danger area. But less than 24 hours later, he and his family evacuated and we are now with dear friends in a city we hope is safe. But our story is embarrassingly easy compared to many who have lost all their earthly possessions, been injured, or lost loved ones. So here we are, well cared for by our dear friends, but with an unfinished blog. I know you’ll understand and you’ll pray for us, and especially for the thousands displaced by these devastating fires raging throughout Oregon and California. God is good all the time.
Dear Lord,
We love and worship You, The All-Powerful One.
We beg You Lord to forgive us our sins of rebellion and indifference to You. Have mercy on us dear Lord in Oregon, Washington and California. Cleanse us from our sin.
Hear our prayers. Send us rain. Stop the fires.
Most of all dear Lord, come and heal our land. 2 Chronicles 16:9.
Amen
Amen! Your prayer struck a chord in my heart, dear Mary. How quickly our hearts grow indifferent! We humbly ask for our Lord’s mercy and forgiveness. Come and heal our land, please, loving Father.
I am so glad to hear you are safe and provided for. God is faithful. Stay strong. Stay in faith and count every blessing you have – Living is a privilege. I will keep you in our prayers. Gloria
Thanks so much, dear Gloria. Please pray for our daughter’s family. The fires are very close to their house. They are safely evacuated, but it’s so hard to face the loss of your animals and every physical thing you have. But God sees and is with us. Hugs, L
I hope and pray that you and your family stay safe. I pray for you. Love, Joy
Thank you, my caring friend. The fires continue to multiply and spread. Not enough personnel or equipment. I’ll just copy and paste the situation our daughter’s house is in:
Please pray for our daughter’s family. The fires are very close to their house. Her husband called a short time ago. The fire was so close, he stopped trying to get animals or get things from their place and just drove away. Our daughter and granddaughters are safely evacuated, but it’s so hard to face the loss of your animals and every physical thing you have. But God sees and is with us.
I pray a shield of protection around you and all of your family and all of your homes in Jesus name. No weapon that is formed against you all will prosper! Much love Lorelei♥️
Thank you so much, dear Ellen. Our hearts ache for our daughter whose house is so close to the flames. Just praising God for their personal safety. They were able to save their donkey, too. The cow refused to go. So many heroes helping others. The man who trailered their donkey wouldn’t take pay. Said he put 1,000 miles on his truck and trailer in the past few days evacuating animals. Three young men are using their own tractors and cats to cut fire breaks near our daughter’s house. No personnel or equipment is available from the government. God is near to the brokenhearted.
I echo Mary’s prayer & also pray that your home and family will continue to be safe.
Truly He is trustworthy!
Claire
