Why should you read what this older woman has to say? First, let me boast a little to give you confidence and reasons to trust me, a sister who has been on the path a little longer. In fact, I’ve lived long enough to have learned a lot about grace. I’ve stumbled often and have been caught each time by nail-scarred hands. My weaknesses are many – I have a hard time staying on task, I get resentful and grouchy, and I tend to procrastinate. I have the urge to fix things that I should leave alone. I keep quiet when I should talk and talk when I should keep quiet.
Along with my beloved husband of 52 years, I have raised 6 children who now have 15 children of their own. I have been a pastor’s wife, missionary, editor, and teacher of high school, pre-school, and homeschool. I apprenticed with an accomplished photographer, and graduated from Bible school and interior design school. I completed a language and culture institute course in a foreign country. I’ve owned businesses of interior design consulting and children’s portrait photography. I’ve lived in Asia for ten years and moved 36 times in the East, Northwest, South, Midwest, and Southwest United States. I’ve lived in the inner city, remote jungle, redneck town, and a teeming Asian city. I’ve served in small churches and a mega church. I have friends who are PhDs and others who have never left their primitive jungle villages.
I’m not wealthy, well educated, or well known, but I am rich in relationships, educated by experience, and well known by my Lord. I hope there is something in these blog articles that will enrich your life.
